Megan has been a S.A.F.E. team member since 2020.
Born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri, Megan attended Florida State University where she earned an undergraduate degree in Finance and minor in Italian Studies. Megan spent some time abroad in Rome, Italy learning the financial trade before returning to the states to serve as a Client Services Associate at Oppenheimer & Co., Inc. She assisted five financial advisors with their client portfolios, managed over $100 million in assets, and earned her Series 7.
Megan made a major career change in 2011 and shifted her focus from finance to venue management. For the next five years, she served as the Front of House Manager at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts. She split her time between overseeing her team of 15 supervisors, advancing and executing events, and creating safety and security protocols and training programs. She worked alongside internal and external security partners, such as local law enforcement and the DHS, to streamline and improve the safety and security of the venue. She also recruited the efforts of a Kansas City organization called The Whole Person to assist in analyzing front-of-house operation and accessibility.
In 2016, Megan moved to Washington, DC and accepted a position with the Washington Nationals as a Supervisor, Guest Experience. She was exposed to the on-boarding, training, logistics, guest experience, facility management, etc. of a Major League Baseball stadium and had the chance to learn more about the nuances of a larger venue and a different venue type.
In 2018, Megan took over the role of Guest Experience Manager for Kennesaw State University’s Department of Event and Venue Management. She created and instituted IAVM’s Trained Crowd Manager safety and security training for Fifth Third Bank Stadium. She worked with the Office of Emergency Management and department team members on updating and maintaining the Emergency Operations Plans. As well, she served as the Crisis Coordinator for the Department of Event and Venue Management which earned her Crisis Coordinator of the Quarter for Q3 in 2019 and Crisis Coordinator of the Year for 2019.
Megan is an active member of the International Association of Venue Managers (IAVM) and graduated from Venue Management School (VMS) and Academy for Venue Safety and Security (AVSS). She has also earned her Certified Venue Professional (CVP) designation.
In early 2020, Megan accepted the role of Events Manager with S.A.F.E. Management at Mercedes-Benz Stadium and is excited to be a part of the team!
