Security & Event Manager
A native of Detroit, Tevin Kellum attended Grand Rapids Community College where he graduated with an Associate of Arts. He continued his education at the University of Minnesota – Crookston where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and a minor in Organizational Psychology. Throughout Tevin’s college career he was a successful student-athlete. His love and commitment for football made him a notable name at both institutions.
Before joining S.A.F.E as Security and Event Manager, Tevin worked for the company in 2014 as a 24/7 security officer. He excelled in Ford Field’s Executive Protection Unit, which led to his promotion to shift supervisor in 2016. He attended the Detroit Police Academy where he graduated as class president and was the recipient of Michigan Commission of Law Enforcement Standards Outstanding Performance Award for class 17-C. Upon his completion of the academy in March 2017, Tevin returned to S.A.F.E. to serve in his current role.
Tevin serves as Security and Event Manager for S.A.F.E. Management since 2017. Tevin is responsible for 24/7 daily security operations at Ford Field (home of The Detroit Lions), and The Detroit Lions practice facility located in Allen Park. He is directly involved in recruiting, hiring and training security staff. In addition, he manages security personnel by enforcing stadium policy and procedures, implements security practices for tenants and clients, conducts performance reviews, and schedules events.
Tevin has assisted with the execution of a wide range of events including: three Super Bowls, Detroit Lions Football, University of Michigan Football, Kevin Hart Comedy Show, Garth Brooks, Beyoncé and Jay-Z, Taylor Swift, Luke Bryan, Kenny Chesney, AC/DC, U2, Guns & Roses Concerts, Monster Jam and Supercross.
